In the wake of being incredibly busy at work and home I decided to take opt out of dressing up and wear my jammies outside instead. 

I can see for miles

Just kickin' around.  I arrived back home after a lovely vacation with my family in New Orleans and I couldn't be happier that the sun is shinning and summer has show it's long lost face. 

scissor happy

I'm completely insane for trying to alter this dress on my own, but it was originally a little long for my tastes. I don't own a sewing machine, nor do I have even a slight understanding of stitching. Nevertheless, I became a little scissor-happy after a weekend brunch and hacked up the bottom of this lovely vintage find. Yeah, I'm an ass. I'm going to find a friend to help me "mend" the situation. BUT on the plus side--ah! yes I am oh so savvy--I made a little suede turban out of the remaining fabric.  I'm considering adding a black suede strip to the bottom of the dress, for extra length and to complete the 60's drop waist vibe.

I found this amazing sheer leopard print shirt at a vintage shop here in Buffalo.
 It's just the perfect hint of negligee.
We're scheduled to get hit with a major storm here, actually everyone within the next 2000 miles is preparing for the worst....
It will be a good night to stay in, make a nice big pot of soup and cozy up to the Ice Storm.

Lita Love

So my Lita's FINALLY arrived! Just a simple outfit I threw together for running around town.

Tonight is my office holiday and I have no idea what to wear.....
I'm stuck on a creamy pinkish maxi dress or a fitted LBD with accentuated shoulders......
I need advice!

I apologize for the lack of posts- by the time I get out of work it's darker then a cave providing absolutely zero natural light.  I'm hoping for an external flash for the holidays which will provide plenty of oomph for indoor pictures.  The weather has turned frightful- we're due for a major snowstorm and I haven't even taken out my cozy sweaters, winter jackets, or over the knee boots!

This was an outfit I wore over the weekend to the Burchfield Penney Art Center's opening reception.  I thought it to be a perfect summer white outfit to accentuate my deepening tan (I'm normally terribly pale).  The belt and bag I found during my weekly thrift adventures.

Here in Buffalo we are fortunate to have a few hidden cobblestone streets.  Unintentionally this one made for the perfect backdrop to this stonewashed dress.  It's 80's I know, but it's lovely in its simplistic silhouette and bold pattern. I wore this to dinner at a lovely French restaurant, Tabree.  We dined on Fruits de Mar, goat cheese ravioli, and seared scallops.  The night became even more of an adventure when the restaurant lost power, causing the diners to finish their meals in darkness and candle light. 

clinic vs. exam

Shoes, shoes, shoes! Back, back, back, and forth.  The Clinic vs. Exam- I've been lusting after the clinic for months, only to have it's counterpart revealed last week.  Now I'm stuck- whatever shall I choose? 

 I look to you dear readers for a PUSH in the right direction.  

With my birthday on it's way I suppose it's only fair I treat myself to a little JC love.....

(And only to complicate matters more I'll include the Mary Rock's wedge.  It's just a bit more springy, and ahhh look at the open toe. Decisions, decisions, painful decisions....)
