The Rocketeer
(H&M top, JC mary rox wedge, f21 jewelry, f21 jacket)
This outfit was semi-inspired by one of my favorite movies growing up, The Rocketeer. I'm not sure if it's the colors, the paper bag waist on the shorts, or the general aviator vibe of this shearling jacket, which is just about the warmest, coziest piece for fall! I know shearling has been popping up everywhere this season--boots, bags, jackets.... What are some must have fall pieces for you?
In other news Jessa and I (my dj partner) are gearing up for this Friday's fashion show MASS APPEAL. It's our third year in a row providing the music and I must say I'm really pleased with our choices this time around! I'm typically more of an indie girl at heart, with my favorite artists being the likes of Twin Shadow, Rufus Wainwright, The National, Darwi Deez, Best Coast, Bon Iver, Arcade Fire etc.....
BUT right now I must admit to truly enjoying some of the more fluffy pop sensations riding the current airwaves. I'm thoroughly enjoying Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream," Rihanna's "Only Girl (In The World)," that G6 jam... just to name a few. I can guarantee this runway will be filled with a mix of indie hits as well as pop sensations :)

to dye for
These are some of my favorite photos from recent weeks. I think the environment really matches the beauty of this tunic/ dress/ top (God only knows what it is!). I won't bore you with reasons why autumn is by far my favorite season .... I'm sure you already have an idea considering my numerous posts on what I'm cooking, picking, layering, admiring, etc.
Anyway, this is totally unrelated to the outfit post but I wanted to share a funny fall story with you...
A few weeks ago, after seeing them all over my favorite blogs (fade to black, haute pursuit, fashion zen, etc), I ordered a foxtail keychain. It arrived in the mail last week and I immediately clipped it onto my favorite fringe bag (check it out in my post "barely there"). Ok so you probably are asking, "where is she going with this?" Fast forward to this past weekend when I visited my favorite local farmer's market to pick up some fresh produce and a pumpkin. As I was at the register paying, the owner's son started screaming, "SKUNK SKUNK SKUNK!!!" Chaos began to ensue. I turned to grab my purchases and bolt only to realize that what he thought was a skunk was in fact my FOXTAIL keychain!
I humbly declared my trendy accessory and began to flee the scene--but not before the farmer, stunned and in total bewilderment, gathered the item in his hands and said, "what the hell is this thing?" Ah Buffalo!

autumn all around
(vintage blouse, corduroy leggings c/o HUE, f21 vest & rings, vintage belt, vintage fringe poncho)
This outfit I ended up styling three different ways. I can be indecisive in that way.
The blouse I picked up over the weekend at my favorite vintage shop - I thought the colors complemented the fall season perfectly. The leggings were kindly sent to me courtesy of HUE, and I've basically been living in them for the past few days. They're incredibly soft and perfect for brisk autumn days. We were lucky to have a gorgeous weekend weather-wise. Craig and I took advantage of the sunny weather by traveling to the country for all the best autumnal activities, like apple-picking, cider-tastingand pumpkin-painting. We also stopped at a farmer's market where we purchased apple butter and the most delicious waxed beans we've ever tasted. Buying local produce really does make all the difference.

I also have some wonderful news to announce in the upcoming days, stay tuned!
