In the wake of being incredibly busy at work and home I decided to take opt out of dressing up and wear my jammies outside instead.

(vintage cowboy boots, vintage jacket, vintage levis, f21 belt, vintage bag, vintage slip)

Clearly, these photos were taken in warmer weather. Buffalo's forecast has really taken a turn for the worse recently, bringing damp dreary days, clouds upon clouds, and the need to turn on the thermostat that much earlier.  This was a (mostly) vintage ensemble I put together mid-summer but never blogged about.  I bring these pictures out of the archives now because I have finally gotten around to starting my own Etsy shop!  You can now shop my vintage finds, including this top (which can be styled as a shirt or a jacket) hereI'm rapidly updating the store, so check back often. Happy autumn!

I've been doing really well at the thrift store lately - this entire outfit from head to toe is either vintage or thrifted finds, and I scored this adorable hat for $6.98 and the shoes for under $3.00!  I have to save up for my trip to NYC next weekend, so I'm all about deals like this right now.  I really love the bow detailing found on the hat and the shoes, it's charming and the shoes are delightfully comfortable!

I wore this outfit to the Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero's concert at the Town Ballroom.  It turned out to be a great show made even better by the fact that one of my BFF's Jessa scored a ticket at the last minute and was able to come along.

(forever 21 clogs, vintage levi's, vintage shirt, forever 21 cross necklace, h&m ring & bracelet)

A Native American inspired outfit I pieced together from Amvets, which is basically our local Salvation Army/thrift shop. I don't know if I'm transitioning early into fall but I'm very inspired by all things motorcycle and bohemian. My personal style is always day to day, and can range from girly and vintage to body conscious and trendy.  I'm also very much inspired by what I read and view, whether that be Nabokov, WWD, Yvan Rodic, or even Perez Hilton.

Kateri Tekakwitha (also known as Catherine) was an indian princess of sorts who was later beatified by the Catholic Church (her sainthood is still pending).  She lived in New York state near the Mohawk river, which happens to run very close to where I grew up. She's also a central character in  Beautiful Losers, a book written by Leonard Cohen.
She is known variously as "The Lily of the Mohawks," the "Mohawk Maiden," the "Pure and Tender Lily," the "Flower among True Men," and "The New Star of the New World." Her tribal neighbors called her "the fairest flower that ever bloomed among the redmen." Upon her death, scars that had covered her face since youth miraculously disappeared, revealing an unusually radiant face. And that is Catherine.

"And I'll dance with you in Vienna,I'll be wearing a river's disguise.
The hyacinth wild on my shoulder my mouth on the dew of your thighs And I'll bury my soul in a scrapbook, with the photographs there and the moss. And I'll yield to the flood of your beauty, my cheap violin and my cross. "- Leonard Cohen

a season in hell

(forever 21 lace bodysuit, vintage levi's. thrifted boots, UO tights)

Ok I know I know, it's a bit risqué!  I've had these tights for forever and really had no "proper" occasion to wear them to, although I find them deeply sexy and playful.  Maybe it's all the True Blood episodes I've been watching, the rosaries I've been sporting, or the Rimbaud I've been reading..... but I pushed for the architecture of the ancient and past.

These grounds also house the grave of Rick James...yeah Buffalo has had a few legends in its time.

I managed to score big time at the thrift stores today... purchased these boots for a mere $3 (totally JC look a likes!). Among my other finds were a floral maxi dress, studded cowboy boots, an eyelet blouse, and a glittery blazer.  An amazing day off if I do say so myself.

lace them up

(vintage levis, thrifted leopard t, h&m lace motorcycle jacket, forever 21 vest, UO pumps)

Layers, lace, and Tobias-approved cutoffs.
I purchased this lace jacket during my trip to NYC--light and perfect for summer night jaunts.  The layers provide versatility for the warmer and occasionaly windy days.  In terms of accessorizing ... this lavender nail polish has become a fast favorite of mine, and as you can see I've added to my cross collection with this lovely turquoise number.

I've been wearing these thrifted Levis non-stop.  They are perfectly worn with the most amazing fit and have already become my staple (and signature) piece for the Spring.  This beaut of a jacket I snagged at H&M while in Toronto a few months back.  I've been hiding it in the back of my closet, but now that spring (and party season) is upon us, I had to break it out.
