An easy like Sunday morning dress.

"The devil will find work for idle hands to do
I stole and I lied, and why ?
Because you asked me to !
But now you make me feel so ashamed
Because I've only got two hands
Well, I'm still fond of you"

A little boho outfit I threw together for work this morning, although perhaps I was being a bit optimistic (totally impractical) considering the frigid winds ravaging the city.  I can't stand this horrid Buffalo weather; it's terribly depressing - at least the sun showed its bright face today.

Relocating to California now, kidding- not really.

(H&M tunic/dress/top?, vintage bag, forever 21 jewelry, deena & ozzy suede bootie)
These are some of my favorite photos from recent weeks. I think the environment really matches the beauty of this tunic/ dress/ top (God only knows what it is!). I won't bore you with reasons why autumn is by far my favorite season .... I'm sure you already have an idea considering my numerous posts on what I'm cooking, picking, layering, admiring, etc.

Anyway, this is totally unrelated to the outfit post but I wanted to share a funny fall story with you...

A few weeks ago, after seeing them all over my favorite blogs (fade to black, haute pursuit, fashion zen, etc), I ordered a foxtail keychain. It arrived in the mail last week and I immediately clipped it onto my favorite fringe bag (check it out in my post "barely there"). Ok so you probably are asking, "where is she going with this?" Fast forward to this past weekend when I visited my favorite local farmer's market to pick up some fresh produce and a pumpkin. As I was at the register paying, the owner's son started screaming, "SKUNK SKUNK SKUNK!!!" Chaos began to ensue. I turned to grab my purchases and bolt only to realize that what he thought was a skunk was in fact my FOXTAIL keychain!

I humbly declared my trendy accessory and began to flee the scene--but not before the farmer, stunned and in total bewilderment, gathered the item in his hands and said, "what the hell is this thing?" Ah Buffalo!

(mink pink dress c/o thread sence, forever 21 wedge, bag, and necklace)

The weather the past few days has been unseasonably warm here in Buffalo, especially as we near the end of September. Seriously I do not know where September went! It's like summer never ended and now it's time to start thinking about Halloween!!! Anyway I'm obviously glad the weather has cooperated or else I wouldn't have been able to sport this amazing sheer Mink Pink dress courtesy of Thread Sense (check out their shop at www.threadsence.com - tons of amazing items). This dress in incredibly comfy. It literally feels like wearing pj's. Also, I love the asymmetrical cut of the dress. These pictures don't really do it justice as half of the garment's appeal is its flowy bohemian flare.

( vintage levi's, thrifted shoes c/o erin, forever 21 cuff, headband c/o tied up and tousled, vintage angora purse)

As the last days of indian summer slip away I decided to put together a last minute bohemian look.  This is the beautiful headband Tied Up and Tousled sent me, as seen in my previous post. The bag I found at the thrift store and I'm absolutely in love!  It's angora and the most beautiful shade of blue.

(forever 21 dress, belt, and necklace, DIY denim headband (cut from a vintage chambray shirt) nine west wedge, h&m satchel)

This outfit is a bit out of my comfort zone as I tend to gravitate more towards structured, tailored, and trendy clothing articles.  That being said, as soon as I saw this pretty little number at our store I knew it must be mine.  For this shoot, we thought it best to capture an earthy, airy feel, so we took a walk out to Tift Nature Preserve to catch the last of the remaining daylight.  Later on we finished our outdoor adventure with a picnic in the park.

I graduated with a dual degree in Art History and Painting so when I saw how the first photo turned out it immediatley reminded me of Andrew Wyeth's Christina's World.
