Mick it, Mick it good

While perusing my favorite blogs recently I came upon this shot (featured on Facehunter) and was completely inspired.  I've been hunting for a sophisticated maxi for several weeks and this image pushed me over the edge.  

I settled on Forever 21's version (for a mere $15) and layered it up.  I topped off the outfit with a lovely pin courtesy of my friend Vincent, who recently returned from a trip to Iceland. Thanks Mr. Grace!  There's something about the maxi that is very restricting, almost Geisha-esque. I feel enveloped in a cocoon of clothing.  I don't know if it's the stripes, but something about this look suggests earlier Comme des Garçons designs.

Winter Warmth

F21 black leather shorts, oscar dela renta vintage sweater, vintage fur, 

chinese laundry over the knee boots, h&m hat & scarf.

Feeling pretty badass for sporting leather shorts in 20 degree weather. This fur is 

unbelievably warm, so I guess it's all proportionate. I'm gearing up for the holidays, and loads of travel. Wishing everyone a glorious holiday season. Can't wait to see what everyone is wearing for NYE.

Winter White

Leggings & socks from Target, White modified H&M dress (Originally it was a summer dress, but I cut it & layered it), 

 F21 sweater,  H&M scarf, UO booties.

Yesterday was Dec 1st and we received our first snow in Buffalo. Today it's back in the upper 40's so I really can't complain, other than our grey atmosphere. I figure I should get in as many roof shots as I can before its too slippery too sneak up there. This is such a cozy, yet comfortable outfit. 
It's practically sleep where, but still looks pulled together. 

I'm loving the look of comfy socks layered over tights (or legging) with a boot. It helps fight the chill,

 and still manages to look adorable.

Mary Mary

White vintage grandma scarf, forever 21 grey pearl sweater, f21 leather pants, UO booties, f21 jewelry. 

Playing off each other once again. I've paired very feminine pieces (ie: grandma scarf & pearl sweater) with something a bit edger & harder, leather pants. 

Testing Textures

H&M sweater, f21 leather shorts, UO-peep toe booties, H&M scarf.

This outfit was inspired by Rodarte F08 collection, specifically the knitwear. As always I love playing with volume and I adore the contrast of the cozy scarf & sweater with the tiny leather shorts. Between the suede booties, patterned tights, cable knit, and leather I'm playing with a lot of texture. I added this last shot in with the beat and gritty surface area, it's a nice play off the sweater. 

Another amazing fall day here. Nearly 65 degrees!
