The Rocketeer
(H&M top, JC mary rox wedge, f21 jewelry, f21 jacket)
This outfit was semi-inspired by one of my favorite movies growing up, The Rocketeer. I'm not sure if it's the colors, the paper bag waist on the shorts, or the general aviator vibe of this shearling jacket, which is just about the warmest, coziest piece for fall! I know shearling has been popping up everywhere this season--boots, bags, jackets.... What are some must have fall pieces for you?
In other news Jessa and I (my dj partner) are gearing up for this Friday's fashion show MASS APPEAL. It's our third year in a row providing the music and I must say I'm really pleased with our choices this time around! I'm typically more of an indie girl at heart, with my favorite artists being the likes of Twin Shadow, Rufus Wainwright, The National, Darwi Deez, Best Coast, Bon Iver, Arcade Fire etc.....
BUT right now I must admit to truly enjoying some of the more fluffy pop sensations riding the current airwaves. I'm thoroughly enjoying Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream," Rihanna's "Only Girl (In The World)," that G6 jam... just to name a few. I can guarantee this runway will be filled with a mix of indie hits as well as pop sensations :)

Mass Appeal 2010
Mass Appeal is quickly approaching us here in Buffalo. For those readers around the globe, Mass Appeal is a annual local fashion show here in Buffalo. It showcases local designers and boutiques that reside on the Elmwood strip (our Main St. in Buffalo). Basically it's our equivalent to NY Fashion Week, but focusing more on local flare. A good friend and mentor, Erin Habes heads the massive ordeal. Anyway- I won't be walking in the show but my dj partner and I, Jessa will be providing the music for the show and hosting the afterparty at Soundlab. This year we decided to go with a Masquerade theme- (French Vogues 90th celebration anyone?) I'm super pleased with the way the fliers turned out thanks to another wonderful friend Brandon over at Block Club Magazine.

Appealing
I wish I took some full body shots of my outfit, but it was such a hectic day.
Here's a few of my DJ partner (Jessa) and I before the beginning of the show
Weekend Round Up
Mass Appeal has come and gone, and I'm still in full recovery mode. Friday was INSANITY between styling, djing, and throwing the after AFTER party I was D E A D. Spent most of Saturday in bed, and Sunday running around outside. I left my camera in Williamsville so I'll post more pics later. Here's a few of the Splash Panic crew.
Also considering this for a possible hair cut.

Counting Down: Mass Appeal

So it's that time of year for Buffalo's autumnal Fashion Show (brought to you by the Ms. Erin Habes). I'm styling for a local boutique this year, Splash Panic. Beyond that my partner and I are also DJIng the show, and throwing the Official After After Party. It's going to be an insane week.
Here are some of my inspirations behind the look for Splash. I'm going for an androgynous look, we're even having custom bow ties.
