The beau and I traveled to Baton Rouge and New Orleans last weekend to celebrate my younger brother's college graduation. Today was beautiful and thus I dressed for the occasion. Floral's have always been a staple of my wardrobe. I've purchased a jean vest in the past, but never a denim jacket (crazy right?). This (almost) army green color I found appealing and I think it might just become a new spring staple.

I suppose it's just nice to feel the sun shinning on your eyes after many months of snow.

I felt very Tim Burton-inspired today, even though I was terrified of this movie--Beetlejuice--as a child. Maybe the best way to overcome your fears is to embrace them?

As I stated in a previous post, I've been trying to channel a new cinematic character every day, which might seem like a weird project but it's yielding some fabulous results. I'm also pretty set on painting every nail a different color. I love the pops of these hues; they remind me of the circus. I'm either on to something here or perfectly crazy.

I'm completely insane for trying to alter this dress on my own, but it was originally a little long for my tastes. I don't own a sewing machine, nor do I have even a slight understanding of stitching. Nevertheless, I became a little scissor-happy after a weekend brunch and hacked up the bottom of this lovely vintage find. Yeah, I'm an ass. I'm going to find a friend to help me "mend" the situation. BUT on the plus side--ah! yes I am oh so savvy--I made a little suede turban out of the remaining fabric. I'm considering adding a black suede strip to the bottom of the dress, for extra length and to complete the 60's drop waist vibe.

I did a shoot for Auxiliary Magazine and this is the final product. One of the designers was

Logan Neitzel who was a former contestant on Project Runway and an uber cute babe.

His designs are phenom, something out of a Rhianna's or Gaga's wardrobe.

We shot in creepy little basement which added even more depth to the bondagesque theme.

This is my new favorite skirt, I bought it in Toronto over the holiday break. The combination of faux leather, rust tones, and high waisted equal perfection.

I know, I know it's Buffalo and everyone complains but it's so so so cold here! When I woke this A.M. f the temp was under 5 degrees. My colleagues probably think I'm a bit nuts for braving such weather in tiny skirts, and high waisted shorts.

Here are some of the pictures from NYE. I absolutely adore this dress, and the color pallet. I've pretty much outfitted my winter wardrobe in shades of rose, gold, mauve, and rust.

These shoes were a gift for Christmas and I'm over the moon, literally. I'm six feet tall, and after a few New Year's cocktails a bit wobbly and as pictured sleepy. Haha. I do hope everyone had an enjoyable New Year!

Just returned from a glorious vacation in Toronto, Ontario. Our stay was full of champagne, loads of delicious food, art, lounging, pop up video, glitter, glitz, etc. etc. A perfect way to start off the New Year. I'll post more pictures of my NYE outfit later on. Here are just a few snaps of my day outfit that I wore the night before, as well as our adorable boutique hotel room. I hope everyone had a lovely NYE and here's to a happy and healthy 2011!

Gosh I've been running around like a mad woman for the past week. Between the holidays, traveling, family, work, and friends in town I've been extremely busy. It was great to be home, even it was for a short period of time. It's been a dramatic and hectic year in all ways for me- positive and negative but with the New Year approaching I really do hope for health and happiness for family, loved ones, friends, myself, and readers. Hope everyone had a joyous holiday!

Just got home from seeing Black Swan, honestly it was the best movie I've seen all year. An epic sexual thriller, with incredible intensity and passion . Please view! I was left speechless, which is a feat in itself.

I realize this outfit is similar to the last few posts. I'm pretty obsessed with maxis instead of pants for winter weather.

I sincerely apologize for the lack of posts. Today it was 10 degrees here, yes 10 degrees. I basically only want to sport thermals, massive fur hats, over the knee boots and layers of sweaters. I had hoped to get our Christmas tree this weekend but instead we took care of some shopping, relaxed, indulged in mimosas, and watched The Garden of Eden. Christmas is my favorite holiday but this year I feel so overwhelmed between family issues, my new job, travel and shopping. Yeeps. Oh well it will all be worth it when I'm home with my loved ones by the fire with a tasty glass of wine.

And by the way my maxi obsession has reached new lengths.

These are a few outtakes from a photo shoot I did a few weeks back. Made By Anatomy is a local Buffalo boutique that specialized in made to measure, bridal party, and gorgeous one of a kind designs. Ali Eagen, the creator and designer approached me awhile back and I couldn't say no to her adorable creations and lovely personality. It was a joy working with her and photographer Katie Schneider. Love, love, love this fur vest lately. It's so warm and cozy and the perfect friendly companion. This weekend was spent resting up as I've been experiencing flu like symptoms for nearly a week. No fun.

Glitter galore for the Holidays! Love me some Litas. They'll be added to wishlist '10.

I apologize for the lack of posts- by the time I get out of work it's darker then a cave providing absolutely zero natural light. I'm hoping for an external flash for the holidays which will provide plenty of oomph for indoor pictures. The weather has turned frightful- we're due for a major snowstorm and I haven't even taken out my cozy sweaters, winter jackets, or over the knee boots!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I had a lovely but hectic holiday at home. I was reunited with my family for a few days, spent some time with my boyfriends family back here (tree trimming, etc.) in Buffalo, and had my best friend from NYC stay with me. Twas a jam packed extended weekend, not to mention I start my new job tomorrow A.M. - yeeeeeps. I'll sleep well tonight.
