The Reincarnation of Wang

Happy Holidays indeed, adore the A. Wang spring collection of bags and as always, Zippora Seven.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I had a lovely but hectic holiday at home.  I was reunited with my family for a few days, spent some time with my boyfriends family back here (tree trimming, etc.) in Buffalo, and had my best friend from NYC stay with me.  Twas a jam packed extended weekend, not to mention I start my new job tomorrow A.M. - yeeeeeps. I'll sleep well tonight.

I'm so excited for the holidays, my families cooking is beyond supreme. I'll be layering on a bunch of sweaters for warmth and the extra lbs I pack on as I feast of the holiday goodness.  Tomorrow I am headed back to my hometown.  I can't wait to be reunited with my parents and catch up with my out of town relatives.  I wish all my U.S. followers a happy and healthy Turkey day!

(forever 21 ballet skirt, cashmere sweater c/o bebe, knee highs h&m, h&m lace moto, f21 shoes)

For their current blogger contest, bebe kindly sent me this lovely cashmere sweater to style and accessorize however I wanted. I was given a variety of sweaters to choose from, but I picked this classic black scoop neck because it's extremely versatile--the perfect layering piece for the season--and I rarely shy away from black... it's pretty much my go-to color--or non-color--of choice. What's more, this sweater has these adorable flecks of glitter on the sleeves & waist, although they don't come through well in the photos.

Ok, so a bit about this outfit: I feel like a modern day ballerina! When I was young I took tap and jazz lessons, but a ballerina I was not. I usually fare towards more edgy looks, but a girly, frilly look is nice for a change. Maybe I was influenced by the new Darren Aronofsky film, Black Swan? I haven't seen it yet, but I know it's recieving rave reviews, and I've always been a fan of his work, not to mention that of Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis and Winona Ryder.

Please vote for my look here!

(vintage fur jacket, h&m leather pants, vintage hat, vintage leather cowboy ankle boots)

It was finally cold enough yesterday to break out one of my vintage furs.  I must admit to by fur addiction- I've been hoarding these furry friends for years,  I must have at least 15 or so at this point.

I love these boots but they're a tad to big on me- check out my etsy if your interested in including them into your wardrobe.

(forever 21 dress, h&m shrug, deena & ozzy shoes, ghastly tights)

I don't think I will ever tire of a "baby doll dress".  They're sort of my go to look for fall and winter.  Especially with a empire waist- it can hide the few extra lbs you pack on during the holidays (wink wink).  I love this little crushed velvet number- it's a gorg wine stained red and completely seasonal.  These shoes, dear lord- I swear I have wrecked them into oblivion.  I've owned them for over a year & 1 1/2 now- they've trampled through the streets of New York, the treacherous snows of Buffalo, pick up games of football (kidding!),  dive bar bathrooms and the like.  They look like shit- but maybe that's the appeal at this point?! Grunge galore.

(vintage blouse, uo bra, forever 21 wedge)

I found this vintage lace blouse stuffed in the back of my closet.  Who knew you could find such luxury buried away!  I suppose I'll have to organize more often.

"Death is her boyfriend
She spits on summers and smiles to the night
She collects crowns made of black roses
But her heart is made of bubble gum
I'm gonna jump the walls and run
I wonder if they'll miss me?
I won't miss them.
The cemetery is my home
I want to be a part of it,
Invisible even to the night.
Then I'll read poetry to the stones
Maybe one day I could be one of them..."

I am throughly exhausted from an insanely hectic weekend! Mass Appeal, the annual runway extravaganza for which I dj, was a smashing success--honestly the best show I've been involved with to date. The afterparty my dj partner and I hosted at Soundlab (Shock & Awe) was also amazing! An inspiring turnout, everyone was dressed to the nines and danced until dawn. Special thanks goes out to Jessa, my dj partner; Mass Appeal's fabulous producer Erin Habes; Brandon Davis at Block Club magazine for his design finesse (he created the fantastic afterparty poster); and all the hundreds of others that volunteered their time to Mass Appeal.

I wore this outfit to dress rehearsal. It's comfy and cozy and perfectly effortless. I'm kinda obsessed with this turban; it hasn't really left my head since its purchase. Somehow I ended up misplacing my makeup kit in the madness so I've been sporting leftover halloween makeup for the last few days, but I think it still works.

Sunday was spent in lazy abyss. Craig and I went to see Megamind in 3D. I'm usually not interested in the 3D movie experience--we actually attended that showing by accident--but it was surpisingly awesome! Hope you all had a lovely weekend!
